Hope in Focus: Icsa in Peru

In 2024, I Care San Antonio continued its mission beyond borders through our partnership with Medical Ministry International. This video captures the heart of our work in Arequipa, Peru—where volunteer doctors, staff, and supporters came together to provide life-changing eye care to those who need it most. Witness the impact, the stories, and the vision that drives our global outreach forward.

  • A man using a handheld device to examine a woman's eyes. The woman is holding a young girl wrapped in a colorful blanket. The setting appears to be a medical or eye care clinic.

    Vision Beyond Borders

I Care San Antonio’s Global Missions helps those in Peru, who would not otherwise have access to vision care, receive eye exams, glasses, medical and surgical eye care – helping them “see” a brighter future.

  • Four smiling women, including an elderly woman wearing a witch hat and sitting in the middle, gathered together for a group photo.

    Seeing the Need

I Care San Antonio began with a powerful mission: to serve others through compassionate eye care. Inspired by Dr. Rice’s early international mission trips, the organization grew from his commitment to helping those without access to vision care. Today, that same spirit guides everything we do (in San Antonio and beyond).

  • Medical professionals and staff in a healthcare setting, with two elderly women seated in wheelchairs, one of whom is being registered or documented by a man in glasses using a clipboard, while another woman looks on.

    Eyes on the World

As part of our ongoing global outreach, I Care San Antonio partners with Medical Ministry International (MMI) to deliver critical eye care in Arequipa, Peru. Our volunteers join MMI teams annually to serve patients in underserved communities, continuing our commitment to restoring sight and transforming lives across borders.
