Patient non-descrimination policy
PURPOSE
The purpose of this Patient Non-Discrimination Policy (the “Policy”) is to ensure that no individual is excluded from participation in, denied the benefits of, or otherwise subjected to discrimination in any program or activity of I Care San Antonio (the “Organization”), in accordance with ICSA bylaws, policies, and all applicable federal and Texas civil rights laws.
POLICY STATEMENT
I Care San Antonio is committed to providing compassionate, high-quality eye care without discrimination. I Care SA does not discriminate in the provision of services on the basis of race, color, ethnicity, national origin, immigration status, religion, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression), age, disability, genetic information, marital status, veteran status, group affiliation or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal or Texas law.
Every patient is treated with dignity, respect, and fairness. Access to exams, eyeglasses, surgeries, and all related services is based solely on clinical need and program eligibility. We serve patients residing in Atascosa, Bexar, Bandera, Comal, Frio, Guadalupe, Kendall, Kerr, Medina, and Wilson Counties, unless otherwise approved by the Executive Director or Medical Director. Eligibility for services is determined by household income, medical insurance status, and other financial hardships or circumstances that impact a patient’s ability to afford care.
